CAFETERIA – wants your fresh garden veggies! If you have some you are willing to donate, you can drop them off in the office, or bring them down to the cafeteria after 8AM.
EMERGENCY FORMS – Please complete BOTH sides and return to the office as soon as possible. We need this information to contact you or an appointed person in case of emergency.
PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN - seminar will be held on Thursday, Sep. 2nd at 6:30PM in Bales Hall. Any
parent that plans on helping in classrooms, driving for class activities, coaching sports, or have any contact with the children must attend.
If you plan on accompanying your child on field trips, you must have completed this seminar or you will not be permitted to participate. If you have already attended Protecting God’s Children, you do not need to attend again.
FOOTBALL MANIA – tickets will be coming home in the next week or 10 days. These are the 10 required tickets to sell. There will be extras available in the office. This was a very successful fundraiser for us last year as
MANY parents sold more than the minimum amount. We had a lot of big winners, so we expect ticket sales to exceed last year. Have fun and HUSBANDS/ MEN/ BROTHERS/UNCLES – get out there and sell … give the ladies a break on this one!! Reminder: This is the ONLY SportsMania ticket we will be selling.
DIOCESAN MANDATED FORMS – All new families are required to sign forms mandated by the Diocese. These forms are available in the office and will be available at the September Parent Meeting.
MEDICATION – If you need to bring in medication for your child, please bring it into the office and complete the required paperwork. The medication must be in the original container. If you wish to leave Tylenol at the school for us to administer to your child as needed, please bring in a new container and complete the required forms.
SCHOOL PICTURES – are tomorrow. Please return completed order form with your child if you have not already done so. Students may dress out of uniform for that day. Please follow dress down rules.
NO SCHOOL – Monday, September 6th in observance of Labor Day.
EDUCATION COMMISSION MEETING – Wednesday, Sept. 8th @ 5PM in Staff Lounge.
CALENDAR CHANGE – We will be having an early out on Friday, Sept. 10th at 11:15AM. The afternoon will be used for staff training with TeacherEase. There is no After School Care on early out days.
PARENT MEETING – will be held Monday, Sept. 13th at 6:30PM in Bales Hall.
DRESS DOWN FOR MADI – As many of you are aware, Madi Penaflor in PreK 4 year old program, sister to Dawson (5th) and Dylan (2nd), granddaughter to Mr. & Mrs. Gainey, is undergoing intensive medical treatment for a congenital anomaly.
We, as a school family, would like to take that one step further and have a DRESS DOWN DAY FOR MADI on Friday, September 17th. Please see enclosed flyer for additional information. Please make sure your students follow the “dress down rules” in your student handbook.
PARENTS OF STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-4 – due to the success and favorable comments from our parents, we are expanding our use of the online TeacherEase program to include grades 1st – 4th. Parents you will find a letter requesting email addresses as well as a $10 per FAMILY fee for your child’s participation. Please return your completed form with your $10 fee as soon as possible. We are working quickly to get all of the students online.
ACADEMIC PROGRESS REPORTS – for grades 1-8 will be available online with TeacherEase on Wednesday, Sept. 22nd.
HOME & SCHOOL – Our first meeting of the year will be held Wed., Sept. 22nd at 6:00 in the Staff Lounge. If you are new to the school, or a veteran ~ please attend. We always look forward to new ideas and excitement as we plan our school year events.
REMINDER – Sunday, Sept. 26th will be our Open House & Grandparent’s Day. The Open House will begin after 8:30 Mass until 11:30AM. Scholastic Book Fair will be in the library.
GREAT NEWS!! – In conjunction with our Open House celebration, Mrs. Schmitt will be here! Since her departure took place in the summer, and many families and students did not get a chance to bid her farewell, a reception with pastries, coffee, and juice will be held in Bales Hall beginning at 10AM. Stop by and visit with her!
DELICIOUS DELIVERIES – Is coming Thursday, Sept. 30th! Worker schedules are coming home today as well as information for parents who take orders at their workplace.
PARENTS – If you would be interested in assisting with playground supervision in the mornings and during the lunch hours, please contact Mr. D.
WE ARE “HAIR” FOR ST. MARY’S – The Loop Barber Shop located at 301 ½ 1st Ave in Rock Falls has begun a program they call School Days. For every male student or faculty member who gets a haircut on Mondays or Tuesdays, The Loop will donate 5% of the cost of the haircut to your school. Let’s keep our boys hair neatly trimmed AND make some money while doing it! Give them a call @ 626-0605.
AFTER SCHOOL ART – Mr. Duis will be offering after school Art lessons and will begin as soon as those who are interested contact him @ 626-4659.
MAX DOLLARS FOR EDUCATION – Each year County Market sponsors the Max Dollars for Education. St. Mary’s School receives a rebate on the dollars spent by our families and friends that register their MAX card to St. Mary’ School. Please complete this form and return it to COUNTY MARKET. Please ask for additional forms for any of your family or friends that would like to help us out!
